Vertiv has entered into an agreement to acquire King Environmental Services Ltd. (KES), an Ireland-based provider of fluid-management, commissioning and load-testing services for liquid-cooled data centers and other critical facilities.
The acquisition is intended to strengthen Vertiv’s thermal-management services across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Vertiv said KES’s capabilities would support customers from initial commissioning through maintenance and lifecycle optimisation. The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to completion, and its financial terms have not been disclosed.
KES provides system flushing, filtration, water treatment, commissioning and performance validation. Its work also includes thermal load testing for liquid-cooling systems and electrical load testing for critical power infrastructure. These services are particularly relevant where liquid-cooling loops and critical electrical systems must be prepared, validated and tested before high-density workloads are placed into production.
The deal follows Vertiv’s acquisition of PurgeRite in December 2025, which expanded its fluid-management capabilities in North America. Taken together, the transactions suggest Vertiv is broadening its service coverage around liquid-cooled infrastructure beyond equipment supply.
This could increase the value of providers able to support the combined thermal and power systems in AI-oriented data centers through commissioning, testing and subsequent maintenance, rather than supplying individual infrastructure components alone. Vertiv has said the KES acquisition is not expected to have a material effect on its financial results.
The agreement points to growing competition for the services layer around liquid-cooled, high-density data center infrastructure. For AI and other dense compute deployments, fluid preparation and quality, commissioning, performance validation and power-system testing are integral to bringing interconnected thermal and electrical systems into service and maintaining them over their lifecycle.
